UJ announces Jordanian Collegiate Programming Contest champion

AMMAN —The University of Jordan (UJ) took first place in the Jordanian Collegiate Programming Contest (JCPC), held at Irbid Private University. The contest featured the participation of 76 teams from 16 local public and private universities, according to a statement made available to The Jordan Times.
UJ's team consisting of students Salem Al-Waraura, Muhammad Al-Waraura and Khaled Abu Sarhan, were crowned the champions at the contest.
Other UJ teams also achieved advanced positions, with two of the university’s five teams qualifying for the regional competition to be held December 2-6 in the Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, the statement added.
The teams that placed from UJ are part of the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, and were supervised by Heba Saadeh and Reem Al Fayez, with support from the school's deans.
