Two arrested for attempted drug smuggling

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have arrested a suspect and his reported accomplice for allegedly attempting to smuggle synthetic cannabis (locally known as joker) into the Kingdom through the Queen Alia International Airport, according to a Public Security Department statement released Sunday.

The suspect, coming from a country in East Asia, was tracked and arrested for possessing 4kg of powder used to make joker. Upon questioning, he led the authorities to another accomplice who was also arrested. Both suspects were referred to the State Security Court.
