Turkey, Jordan reaffirm consolidated stand on occupied city of Jerusalem

AMMAN — Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdul Nasser Abul Bassal on Tuesday reviewed, with the head of Turkish Religious Affairs Department Ali Arbash, the various projects carried out by the Jerusalem Awqaf Department, under Jordan’s administration.

An official statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that Abul Bassal and Arbash discussed Jordan’s role in the preservation of occupied Jerusalem and the holy Aqsa Mosque, as the Turkish official voiced appreciation for the Kingdom’s commitment to its protection.

He stressed that Jerusalem is also among Turkey’s highest and most “sensitive” priorities, as Abul Bassal underlined the importance of maintaining strong bilateral ties and furthering cooperation.

Arbash reaffirmed Turkey’s support for Jordan in the face of continued Israeli violations and aggressions.

During the meeting, Abul Bassal called for Muslims around the world to visit Jerusalem, to support in the occupied city’s strife against relentless Judaisation efforts and daily Israeli transgressions.
