Tunisia praises Jordan’s ‘effective’ role in Security Council

AMMAN — Tunisia on Wednesday commended Jordan’s efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
At a meeting with Foreign Ministry Secretary General Mohammad Tayseer Bani Yassin, Tunisian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Touhami Abdouli praised the Kingdom’s “effective membership” in the UN Security Council.
Discussions at the meeting also covered bilateral relations and developments in the region.
The two officials stressed the strong ties between Jordan and Tunisia, and their continuous cooperation on issues of mutual concern.
They also reviewed developments in Iraq and Syria, stressing the need to find political solutions through dialogue to end the crises in both countries.
