Trial to open in Hattar murder case

AMMAN — The State Security Court (SSC) Attorney General, Brig. Gen. Ziad Odwan on Saturday referred the case of the murder of Jordanian writer Nahed Hattar to the SSC to begin the trial, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The main defendant in the case was charged with three crimes: committing terrorist acts that led to the death of a person, conducting terrorist acts that could lead to turmoil, and premeditated murder, Odwan told Petra.
Two other suspects were also referred to the SSC, one of whom is an alleged arms trader and the other a suspected middle man for weapon sales.
