Trade unions federation urges workers to get vaccinated

AMMAN — The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions (GFJTU) on Wednesday urged workers to get fully vaccinated to physically present at work as a fully vaccinated workforce will be able to operate safely and maintain work continuity with lower risk to fellow employees’ lives.

The federation also reminded workers of Defence Order No. 35, which stipulates strict procedures for COVID workplace violations.

The GFJTU said that the measures stipulate that only fully vaccinated private sector workers can attend workplace.

The days they are not allowed to work shall be deducted from their annual leave. If the annual leaves are exhausted, they shall be considered unpaid leave, and employees are not entitled to any salary or allowance during that period, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
