Tourism, youth ministers, House Saudi friendship committee discuss ties

AMMAN — Tourism Minister Makram Queisi, and president and members of the Saudi-Jordanian parliamentary friendship committee at the Saudi Shura Council on Thursday discussed means to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector, stimulate tourism and increase the number of Saudi tourists to the Kingdom.

Queisi stressed that Jordan enjoys diversified, unique and safe tourist destinations that are preferred by Saudis, highlighting the significance of enhancing tourism exchange between the two kingdoms, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Ibrahim Qannas, head of the Saudi committee, said that tourism has become an industry and trade, adding that Jordan enjoys a "great" history, observable through Jordan’s antiquities.

Also on Thursday, Youth Minister Mohammad Nabulsi met with members of the Saudi committee and highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah's directives to develop Jordanian-Saudi relations in all fields, mainly enhancing relations between the two countries' youth, empowering young people and boosting their role in the decision making process, Petra added.
