AMMAN — Tourism revenues increased by 9 per cent during the first nine months of the year, reaching $3.4 billion, compared to $3.1 billion during the same period of 2013, Tourism Minister Nidal Katamine said Sunday.
Katamine attributed the growth to an increase in the number of Gulf and US tourists, in addition to Jordanian expatriates returning to the Kingdom for vacation.
He highlighted the ministry’s efforts to enhance the tourism sector, including holding meetings with Arab and foreign ambassadors in Amman to acquaint them with tourist and archaeological sites.
