Tourism minister highlights heritage value of Salt

AMMAN — The Ministry of Tourism is keen to support every effort related to nominating Salt for the UNESCO World Heritage list, Tourism Minister Nayef Al Fayez said on Tuesday.
During his meeting with Nabil Itani, an expert from UNESCO World Heritage Centre, who is on a visit to the Kingdom to complete the technical evaluation of the nomination file, the minister highlighted the heritage value of Salt and the city’s construction style, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Itani lauded the concerned authorities’ efforts towards including the city on the UNISCO World Heritage list, highlighting the measures taken and preparations and praising the role of the local residents in this arena.
