Three infiltrators shot dead at northern border

AMMAN – Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) personnel shot dead three infiltrators at the border with Syria late Wednesday, according to an army official.

The JAF source said the three infiltrators illegally crossed the border at around 10:30pm on Wednesday night.

JAF personnel fired warning shots to stop them from proceeding further, but they did not comply, forcing the army to shoot them, the source said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Earlier on Wednesday, JAF staff shot dead two infiltrators from Syria who illegally crossed the border at around 6:30pm and ignored warning shots fired by JAF personnel.

As a result, one was shot dead, while the other was critically wounded and taken to a field hospital, where he later died, according to the army.
