Tafileh public works employees want wages for snow clearance work

TAFILEH — Employees at the Public Works Directorate in Tafileh held a work stoppage for a few hours on Tuesday, protesting that they were not given their wages for clearing snow during the last blizzard.
Speaking on behalf of the protesters, Qaisar Muhaisen said around 150 workers opened roads that were blocked during the snowstorm, working round-the-clock for six days and their dues, JD300 each, have not been paid yet.

The private sector’s participation in dealing with the snowstorm contributed to easing pressure on the authorities and boosted partnership between the two sectors, according to representatives of private firms.
The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) on Tuesday said that 120,000 social media users benefited from its posts about services during the snowstorm that hit the Kingdom over the weekend.
