AMMAN — The Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) on Tuesday called for reviewing engineering education at local universities to deal with the “low level” of graduates.
During a discussion at the JEA, engineers warned of the declining quality of engineering education outcomes, which affects the good reputation of Jordanian engineers.
Public Works and Housing Minister Sami Halaseh called on relevant parties to come up recommendations to improve education at engineering faculties.
JEA President Abdullah Obeidat said the association receives a lot of complaints from companies regarding the low proficiency of engineers, noting that more than 25 per cent of professors at engineering faculties are not members of the syndicate.
