Suspected armed drug dealer arrested in south Amman— PSD

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel on Monday arrested a suspected armed drug dealer in south Amman after resisting arrest and shooting towards security personnel, according to a Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson.
An AND force on Monday dawn raided the location a drug dealer “who posed threats and was a source of terror to citizens”, the spokesperson said, adding that the suspect, once he saw the security force, started shooting at the security agents, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The PSD official noted that the security force applied the rules of engagement and restrained the suspect who sustained injuries to his hand and foot during the arrest. He was transferred to hospital, the official said.
Another suspect, who was in company of the prime suspect, was also arrested. The security force seized an automatic firearm, ammunition, and 10,000 narcotic pills, marijuana saplings and other drugs packed in “ready-for-sale” bags from the possession of the suspect, the spokesperson said, adding that an investigation is under way.
