AMMAN — Police on Thursday announced the arrest of a man connected to the murder of a physician in Zarqa, which occured Wednesday, official sources said.
The victim was found murdered in his home in Zarqa in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Police Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi said.
“We immediately formed a special team to investigate the homicide and concluded that a man who was in the victim’s home was the main suspect,” Sartawi told The Jordan Times.
The suspect was immediately arrested and he confessed to “murdering the victim following a heated argument”.
“The suspect confessed that he beat up the victim with a blunt object while at his home following a heated argument,” the police official said.
Investigators who were called to the scene noticed the bruises on the victim’s body and concluded that it was a homicide, Sartawi explained.
A Zarqa City Facebook page stated that the victim lived alone in his house in the city centre and that the body was found by one of his relatives.
Police said that investigations are ongoing in the case.
