AMMAN — The State Security Court (SSC) on Tuesday held a public hearing into December’s terrorist attacks in Karak, 140km southwest of Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The hearing included the trial of 11 defendants, one of whom is still wanted. Ten defendants stood before the court, while five of them requested lawyers for a session to be held on May 21.
The SSC charged them with terrorist acts, manufacturing explosives and providing money to be used in terrorist acts, among other charges.
Meanwhile, the SSC continued hearing cases against five suspects involved in the Rakban attacks in June 2016. Defence Attorney Bashir Oqaili presented his defence statements during the session, which was held under tight security.
The court adjourned the session until May 21 to allow the lawyer to bring witnesses before the court.
