AMMAN — The Ministry of Local Administration on Monday announced a state of maximum alert as of Tuesday as forecasts predict that a depression will affect the Kingdom in the next two days, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ministry called on municipalities, municipal affairs directorates and joint services councils to take all necessary precautions, open operation rooms, check manholes and sewers, inspect valleys and secure the necessary machinery to deal with the out-of-season unstable weather conditions, Petra said.
The ministry called on the public to stay away from low-lying areas where flash floods can form, follow weather forecasts and call, when necessary, the ministry's main operations room at 064652697 or 064641393.
