SSC affirms social protection for all workers on its 45th anniversary

AMMAN — A total of 1.5 million individuals are covered by the Social Security Corporation (SSC), 97,000 of which are optional subscribers. In a statement on Sunday, to mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the organisation, which falls on Monday, SSC Director General Mohammed Al Tarawneh emphasised the corporation's commitment to providing social protection for all workers, such that no worker exits the labour market without a pension, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The cumulative number of pensioners has reached 317,000, while the cumulative number of beneficiaries receiving unemployment benefits reached 309,000, with the number of payments reaching 398,000 cases. The cumulative number of insured women benefiting from maternity insurance reached 71,000, with 100,000 cases of payment, the official noted, highlighting efforts to safeguard the Kingdom's workers.
