AMMAN — Span’s Ambassador to Jordan Aránzazu Bañón Dávalos on Tuesday handed over machinery to six municipalities in Mafraq to enhance local capabilities in facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dávalos said that the assistance was provided with the support of the EU and the German and Spanish governments as part of the “Capability 2” programme, noting that the entire international community commends the role of Jordan towards refugees amid other challenges facing the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
President of the Greater Mafraq Municipality Committee Hassan Jbour said that the assistance helps municipalities offer better services given the high number of Syrian refugees they host. Jbour praised the role of the EU and other organisations in offering aid that supports sustainable development.
