Spain reaffirms support for King’s peace efforts

AMMAN — The Senate’s Jordanian-Spanish Friendship Association, lead by Senator Issa Murad, and the Spanish Ambassador to Jordan Aránzazu Bañón Dávalos on Sunday discussed ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation.
In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Murad reaffirmed the depth of Jordanian-Spanish relations in various fields, due to the strong ties shared by the two countries’ royal families.
He pointed to the variety of shared political stances between Jordan and Spain, especially with regards to achieving peace in the region.
For her part Aránzazu commended His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts in achieving peace and security through the two-state solution, adding that Spain understands the weight of the humanitarian burden that Jordan has had to carry due to recent conflicts in the region.
