AMMAN — The Service and Public Administration Commission (SPAC) on Monday launched its 2024-2027 strategic plan.
The strategy aims to enhance the commission’s role in human resources, services, organisational structures, governance, institutional performance management, government leadership, and organisational culture, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Public Sector Modernisation Nasser Shraideh said that modernisation of the public sector, as envisioned by His Majesty King Abdullah, involves modernising the public administration, enhancing both institutional and individual performance, and improving governance.
By re-engineering procedures, removing obstacles, digitising and automating processes, we can enable citizens to access services easily and effectively, he said, highlighting the importance of the newly launched strategy.
During the ceremony, the minister announced the implementation of new human resources and amended civil service systems applicable to employees recruited under these systems in the public sector, ensuring their rights and financial benefits.
He stressed that the human resources management system is crucial for improving the performance of human resources, which is fundamental for modernising the public sector.
SPAC will ensure the ministries compliance with these new systems and will work with various entities to build their technical and administrative capacity.
SPAC President Sami Nasir noted that the launch of the strategy coincides with the Kingdom’s celebrations of the Silver Jubilee, marking the 25th year of His Majesty King Abdullah’s reign.
Nasir stressed that the strategy aims to have a positive impact on the quality of services provided to citizens and meet their aspirations, through developing innovative tools that provide technical and advisory support to enhance the capacity of government departments to manage their resources and deliver services within a comprehensive system of oversight and compliance.
