‘Solidarity convoy awaiting better security conditions in Sinai’

AMMAN — Wael Saqa, head of the Artery of Life Committee in Jordan, on Sunday said it is waiting for the security situation in Egypt’s Sinai to improve before dispatching a solidarity convoy to Gaza, dubbed “Ansar 2”.
He added that the committee has obtained the needed approval from Jordanian and Egyptian authorities to send the convoy to the coastal enclave.
Around 160 people will participate in the solidarity convoy to Gaza which will carry humanitarian and medical assistance to the besieged strip, he said.

The first batch of medical and humanitarian assistance collected by the Jordanian “Artery of Life” committee reached Gaza on Saturday.
The Jordanian “Artery of Life” committee on Monday dispatched medical aid and foodstuff worth JD250,000 to residents of the Gaza Strip.
Wael Saqqa, head of the Jordanian “Artery of Life” committee, on Sunday said the international convoy that was scheduled to leave for Gaza at the beginning of this month was waiting for the approval of Egyptian authorities to enter the strip.
