AMMAN — The Sisterhood Is Global Institute (SIGI) on Tuesday held the second young female leaders of southern Jordan conference in Karak, which is part of a series of conferences that target girls between the ages of 14 and 17 across the Kingdom.
A statement by SIGI said that it will hold its third conference in Irbid on Wednesday, adding that its first conference, which was for young female leaders in the Kingdom's central district, was held last Thursday in Amman at the Haya Cultural Centre.
The conferences emphasise girls' important role in creating change and social development, and aims at supporting them by providing safe spaces and creating a platform in order to help them hone their skills and express themselves, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
