AMMAN — The Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation (AHSF) has invited submissions for the 2015 AHSF Award for Children’s Literature, with the deadline set for the end of February, according to an AHSF statement released Sunday.
The JD18,000 award is given to the top three works annually that could be a story, poem, novel, or play.
The first place winner receives JD10,000, while second wins JD5,000 and third JD3,000. Qualified candidates should be Arabs who have written an authentic work in modern standard Arabic that was not published before, addressing the age group from 6 to 12 years.
The work also should not be less than 7,500 words. Six copies of the work should be submitted with a resume and the award application form, available on AHSF’s website (www.shoman.org).
