Shehadeh reviews London conference agenda with ministers, private sector

AMMAN — The London conference will improve Jordan’s economy, finance and investments, Minister of State for Investment Affairs Muhannad Shehadeh said on Wednesday.
During a meeting, which was organised by the Jordan Strategy Forum to discuss the role of the Jordanian private sector at the London conference, Shehadeh said that the government will unveil a plan at the conference to improve economic growth in the Kingdom, according to a ministry statement.
The minister also said that the Jordanian delegation will focus on four pillars during the conference. The first pillar will focus on the legislative and economic reforms put forward by the government.
The second pillar will discuss the economy and the government’s efforts to restructure public debt, the minister said, adding that they will also review large investment projects, which contribute to creating job opportunities for Jordanian youth.
Shehadeh added that the third pillar will focus on investment, increasing Jordanian exports, innovation and start-ups to achieve sustainable economic growth.
The last pillar will discuss partnerships between the private and public sectors, logistical services, tourism and Jordan’s potential in regional reconstruction efforts.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tareq Hammouri and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mary Kawar, among others.
