AMMAN — Jordan on Thursday participated in the 52nd ordinary session of the Arab Ministers of Media hosted in Cairo.
Representing the Kingdom, Minister of State for Media Affairs Faisal Shboul said that the media challenges that Arabs face include "media blockades" against the Palestinian issue and the censoring of content that supports the issue on social media that are imposed by international media companies with “weak justifications”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister, who is also the government spokesperson, stressed that defending content that supports the Palestinian issue on global media platforms is one of the proposals of the digital diplomacy that Jordan has extended to the Arab League Secretariat General. He added that a neutral, professional media is a public right, highlighting the importance of pan-Arab collective action to protect both public and private media outlets.
