Shboul chairs 1st UNESCO conference organisational meeting

AMMAN — Minister of Government Communications Faisal Shboul on Wednesday chaired the first National Organising Committee meeting in regard to hosting the UNESCO International Conference titled "Global Media, Information Literacy and Youth Agenda", scheduled to be held in October under Royal patronage.  The conference will be organised by UNESCO in partnership with the Ministry of Government Communications, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.  During the meeting, Shboul said that the Council of Ministers agreed to host the conference and form technical, administrative and logistical teams and committees. According to Shboul, the conference will welcome 300 foreign participants, 500 local participants and 1,000 online participants. The minister stressed that this international conference will focus on media literacy to confront the era of digital dominance and its negative aspects, such as fake news and illegal content dissemination on social media platforms.
