Senate president, US ambassador talk ties, regional developments

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Al Fayez on Sunday met US Ambassador to Jordan Henry Wooster, with talks covering mutual ties, latest regional developments and a range of issues of common concern.

Fayez, during the meeting highlighted the importance of strategic Jordanian-US relations, calling for furthering economic cooperation for the best interests of the two countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The two sides also referred to the need of scaling up efforts towards achieving regional security and stability. Fayez also reviewed the Kingdom’s position on the peace process, noting that His Majesty King Abdullah always stresses that the two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on international legitimacy resolutions is the key to restoring regional peace and stability.
