Senate president, The Netherlands ambassador discuss bilateral ties, regional issues

AMMAN — Senate’s President Faisal Fayez and Ambassador of The Netherlands to Jordan Harry Verweij on Sunday discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries as well as the current regional situation. Fayez reaffirmed Jordan's positions, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, regarding the Palestinian issue and the Israeli attack on Gaza and the occupied West Bank, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. He also urged the international community to support King Abdullah's efforts to halt the "brutal" Israeli aggression on Gaza and to allow the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Verweij underscored the value of Jordan's role in regional peace and stability and praised King Abdullah's efforts to achieve a just solution to the Palestinian issue based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution. He also described Jordanian-Netherlands relations as solid and profound and expressed his country's keenness to enhance collaboration with Jordan in various fields.
