Senate president, House speaker receive NCHR 2021 annual report

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Thursday received a copy of the 2021 annual report on human rights during his meeting with President of the Board of Trustees of the Jordanian National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR), Samar Al Hajj Hassan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Fayez said that the report will be presented to Senate special committees to highlight notable achievements and results, before recommendations are made.

He added that the government and the NCHR will hold discussions on the necessary legislative measures pertaining to the report.

Also on Thursday, Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi received a copy of the report from Hajj Hassan and stressed that the House attaches great importance to the state of human rights and freedoms in a way that reflects the Kingdom's efforts in this regard, Petra added.
