Senate president, Chinese envoy talk advancing economic, political relations

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Wednesday met with Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Pan Weifang over advancing relations in the economic and political fields.

Lauding the “advanced level” of Jordanian-Chinese ties, Fayez said that China is a strategic partner for Jordan, highlighting vital Chinese investments in the Kingdom, including oil shale, infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

During the meeting, the two sides expressed their countries’ keenness to boost economic cooperation, with the Chinese envoy highlighting the Kingdom’s “vital” role in rebuilding Syria and Iraq, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Fayez also praised Chinese support to the Kingdom, calling for increasing aid to support the Kingdom in shouldering the Syrian refugee crisis.
