Senate panel discusses draft income tax law

AMMAN — The Senate Economic and Financial Committee on Monday discussed general observations on the draft income tax law, which is currently in the Lower House.

Senator Rajai Muasher, who chaired the meeting, questioned the law’s economic and financial impact on the state budget and its role in stimulating investment and facilitating its procedures.

Finance Minister Umayya Toukan noted that the law would generate JD150 million for the Treasury.
