Senate Palestine Committee reaffirms Jordan’s support of two-state solution

AMMAN — The Senate’s Palestine Committee on Tuesday reiterated the Kingdom’s firm stance towards the Palestinian cause and its support of the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.

Discussing the repercussions of the “deal of the century”, the committee described the plan as “the most dangerous one since the Balfour Declaration,” the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The committee, during the meeting, also expressed appreciation for the stances of the UN, the EU, Russia, China and Germany regarding the deal, and urged international parliaments and the international community to exert pressure on Israel to resort to the negotiation table in line with legitimate resolutions and accredited references.
