AMMAN — The Senate's Jordanian-Azeri Friendship Committee, chaired by Senator Mifleh Rahimi, held a meeting on Tuesday with Azeri Ambassador Eldar Salimov over bilateral relations and means of boosting ties in various fields.
Rahimi commended the "distinguished" level of relations between the two countries, especially in the economic and political fields, thanks to His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He stressed the importance of continuing work and cooperation to enhance ties to serve joint interests and increase the volume of trade exchange, praising the Azeri positions in support of the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Salimov commended the effective role played by Jordan to realise security and stability in the region.
