Senate committee, Egyptian ambassador talk cooperation

AMMAN — The Senate's Jordanian-Egyptian Friendship Committee, headed by Senator Ahmed Tebaishat, on Monday, met with the Egyptian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mohammed Sameer. Talks highlighted the need to increase bilateral agreements in the fields of tourism, technology, infrastructure, logistics, trade exchange and investment, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Discussions also emphasised the importance of removing obstacles facing Jordanian and Egyptian communities in both countries, especially in education and investment sectors.
Both sides highlighted the two countries' shared political position towards the Palestinian cause, with Tebaishat emphasising the importance of standing by Jordan and supporting the Hashemite Custodianship of the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.
The Egyptian envoy praised Jordan's positions towards local, regional and international issues, expressing his country's support for the Hashemite Custodianship.
