AMMAN — A Saudi delegation on Monday visited the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) to take a first-hand look at the centre's agriculture research projects.

The delegates, representing the Saudi public and private sectors , explored opportunities to cooperate with the Jordanian private sector in adopting technology, seeds, fertilisers, water-efficient irrigation, programmes for improving livestock and farm management, among others, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

NARC Director Nizar Haddad said that the meeting mainly covered the exchange of expertise and agricultural research, as the centre seeks to boost cooperation with other countries in these fields.

Haddad added that the Economic Modernisation Vision is part of efforts to promote investment in the agricultural sector by initiating partnerships with neighbouring countries, highlighting Jordan's role in facing water and climate challenges. National Director of the Technical Cooperation Programme at the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Saudi Arabia Fahd Jamhan praised the technological capabilities of NARC.
