AMMAN — Labour Minister Samir Murad on Thursday decided that Saturdays should be a working day at labour directorates across the Kingdom to enable employers to rectify the status of guest workers during the grace period that ends on April 5.
In a statement, carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the Labour Ministry called on employers and guest workers to benefit from the grace period that includes exemptions on fees and fines from previous years.
The ministry noted that the labour directorates between March 6 and 21 issued some 33,000 permits to violating guest labourers who benefited from the grace period so far.
