Safadi, Polish FM talk ties, region

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rao on Monday held extensive discussions focused on advancing cooperation in the economic, tourism, education and investment fields.
Both ministers agreed to discuss the promising sectors during a future meeting between the two ministries in implementation of an MoU signed in October of 2021, in coordination with the relevant institutions, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
Safadi and Rao agreed that during the meeting, agreements to increase economic partnership and examining the requirements for greater interaction between the private sectors of the two countries would also be discussed.
The two ministers also discussed the outcomes of the Royal visit to Poland made in 2021, His Majesty King Abdullah’s meeting with the Polish president on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York in September and the steps required to further cooperation.
The ministers commended the bilateral relations, noting that the Jordanian-Polish diplomatic relations began in 1971, which reflects a political will to expand cooperation in various fields.
The discussions covered several regional and international issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, as well as the efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis and the refugee issue, the Ukrainian crisis and its regional and international implications.
