AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday telephoned Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu to discuss developments in bilateral relations.

Safadi referred to the increased cooperation between the two countries in several vital sectors, particularly the 58 per cent growth in commercial exchange recorded in 2022, a Foreign Ministry statement said.

Both ministers explored ways to move relations towards broader opportunities for cooperation that build upon "historical friendship and cooperation".

Safadi and Aurescu also discussed regional issues, particularly the Palestinian issue, as well as pan-Arab efforts towards a political solution to the crisis in Syria.

Both parties agreed to continue coordinating efforts to resolve regional crises and establish security and stability.

Also on Monday, Safadi telephoned his Kazakh counterpart Murat Nurtleu and congratulated him on assuming office.

During the call, the two ministers referred to the deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom and Kazakhstan, and their keenness to continue developing ties in various areas.

Safadi and Nurtleu addressed prospects to expand Jordanian-Kazakh cooperation, reiterating the need to continue coordination on regional issues and other areas of common interest.
