Safadi meets counterparts on sidelines of UNGA

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi has met with UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and State Secretary of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Livia Leu Agosti in New York on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

A Foreign Ministry statement on Wednesday said that Safadi also attended a meeting regarding regional stability and cooperation in the Middle East, which was hosted by Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt.

The statement added that Safadi and his Serbian counterpart Nikola Selakovic signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation between both countries' foreign ministries. Safadi also met with UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini to discuss preparations for the ministerial meeting organised by Jordan and Sweden that is scheduled to be held in New York next Thursday.
