Safadi, French Senate delegation reaffirm joint vision for region, ties

AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Sunday received a delegation of members from the French Senate headed by Chairman of the French-Jordanian Friendship Committee Senator Cyril Pellevat.
Safadi and the delegation discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in accordance with the friendship and joint vision affirmed by the meetings between His Majesty King Abdullah and French President Emmanuel Macron, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
Safadi stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in the economic, investment and cultural arenas, highlighting the need to continue consultation and coordination between Jordan and France regarding issues of common interest.
The two sides reviewed developments in the region and efforts exerted to resolve regional crises and achieve security, stability and peace, the statement said.
