AMMAN — The Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre (RJGC) was awarded the 2022-2023 Sharjah Prize for Public Finance in the Institutional category for its outstanding achievements in control, audit and financial risk management.
The award, the first of its kind in the Arab world, is instituted by the Central Financial Department of the Emirate of Sharjah in collaboration with the Arab League's Arab Administrative Development Organisation (ARADO), according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
During a ceremony held at the Palace of Culture in Sharjah, RJGC Director General, Brig. Gen. Muammar Haddadin, was honoured by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi the Crown Prince of Sharjah.
The second edition of the award witnessed the participation of 14 Arab countries, including Jordan, the UAE, Palestine, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Syria, Iraq and Egypt.
