Royal directives: 28 families get keys to new homes in Ajloun, Irbid

AMMAN — Twenty-eight underprivileged families in Ajloun's Bauon area and Irbid's Mashare on Saturday received new houses as part of a Royal Initiative to build homes for underprivileged families, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Covering all the Kingdom’s governorates, the initiative was launched in 2005 in implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives expressed in his meetings with dignitaries of the governorates.

The initiative aims at providing decent and stable living conditions for beneficiary families that are chosen according to the Ministry of Social Development’s criteria. 

Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi handed over the keys of new houses to beneficiary families and toured the fully equipped and furnished residences, accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Kisbi and Minister of Social Development Ayman Mufleh, as well as governors of Ajloun and Irbid.

Issawi, Kisbi and Mufleh, in the presence of Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans (ESARSV) Director Retired Brig. Gen. Thalaj Thiabat, also toured the project of the military retirees club in Ajloun, whose construction had finished and will be provided with necessary furniture and appliances. 

During the handing over ceremony of the houses, Issawi said that King Abdullah pays utmost attention to improving the quality of life of Jordanians and upgrading the level of services to communities across the Kingdom, particularly segments going through difficult conditions.

In interviews with Petra, beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for this generous Royal initiative that reflects His Majesty's concern and keenness to provide decent living conditions to citizens.
