AMMAN — The Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) participated in the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), held at RAF Fairford in the United Kingdom from July 18 to 20, alongside other air forces from around the world.
The participation reflects the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army’s commitment to maintaining a “strong” presence in international military aviation events, showcasing the RJAF’s “advanced” capabilities at both regional and global levels, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the event, RJAF Commander Brig. Gen. Pilot Mohammad Hiasat, on behalf of HRH Prince Feisal, visited the Flying Scholarship for Disabled People programme.
He delivered a speech on behalf of Prince Feisal during a ceremony that included the presentation of aviation wings, attended by the chief of the Air Staff of the British Royal Air Force.
The RJAF has previously won the Best C-130 Static Display award at the Air Tattoo for three consecutive years, a recognition that highlights ongoing modernisation efforts within Jordan’s defence aviation sector.
RJAF’s participation in RIAT offers a “valuable” opportunity for technical and knowledge exchange with leading global air forces, insight into the latest aviation and air defence technologies, and the expansion of military partnerships and joint defence cooperation.
Hiasat also presented RIAT’s honorary award, the Sword of His Majesty King Hussein Bin Talal, to the winning team from Slovakia, flying the PC-9 aircraft.
RIAT is one of the world’s largest and most prominent military aviation events, attracting thousands of visitors, enthusiasts, and experts in aviation and defence each year.
