AMMAN — Airport International Group (AIG), the operator of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), on Sunday announced the launch of a new direct flight route operated by Royal Jordanian (RJ) connecting Amman with Sharjah.
The service, linking QAIA with Sharjah International Airport (SHJ), will operate four weekly flights. The route is expected to strengthen air connectivity between Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, supporting tourism, trade and business travel while providing passengers with more travel options from the capital.
AIG CEO Nicolas Deviller said that enhancing regional connectivity is a cornerstone of QAIA’s strategic objectives, adding that the launch of the Sharjah route, operated by RJ, reflects the deep economic and tourism ties between Jordan and the UAE.
"We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Royal Jordanian to support the growth of our flight network and solidify QAIA’s position as a gateway connecting Jordan to the region and the world."
The new route is part of QAIA’s broader efforts to expand its regional reach and improve access to key markets, reinforcing the airport’s role as Jordan’s primary aerial gateway and supporting the Kingdom’s tourism sector and overall economic development.
