AMMAN — Royal Jordanian (RJ) airlines on Thursday announced that it diverted flight RJ264 from Chicago’s O'Hare International Airport to Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport earlier in the day to make an emergency landing at Goose Bay Airport in Canada to hospitalise a passenger.
The pilot took the decision to divert the flight and landed at the nearest airport after the passenger showed symptoms of a stroke, which necessitated his transfer to hospital, RJ said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
After evacuating the patient, the flight resumed its journey to Amman, following a three-hour delay. RJ places the health and safety of its passengers at the forefront of its priorities, the statement added.
