AMMAN — Under the patronage of HRH Prince Ali, chairman of the Royal Film Commission (RFC) board of commissioners, RFC on Monday organised a private premiere of Jordanian feature film "Boomah" by director Zaid Abu Hamdan, held at the commission’s outdoor amphitheatre.

During the event, RFC Director General Mohannad Bakri highlighted the commission’s support for the production through its Jordan Film Fund, noting that the film features “compelling” storytelling and addresses important social issues.
RFC Media and Cultural Programmes Director Ahmad Khatib said that the film was shot in several locations across Jordan, including Qastal and Jerash, as well as neighbourhoods in Amman such as Jabal Amman, Al Wehdat, Bayader Wadi Al Seer and Wadi Al Haddadeh.
The film, which received a production grant from the Jordan Film Fund, stars Rakeen Saad, with Farah Bsieso, Habis Hussein, Majd Eid, Joanna Arida, Moataz Labadi, Karam Zawahreh and Nabil Rai among the cast.

"Boomah" follows an illiterate young woman who grows up without a family in a poor neighbourhood.
Driven by harsh circumstances, she becomes involved in extorting street vendors and mingling with former offenders and other marginalised members of society.
Despite her hardened exterior and troubled past, she retains a deep sense of compassion for children and abused women, while carrying the emotional weight of the difficult circumstances that shaped her life.
