AMMAN — The Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC) is working to meet its commitments in order to obtain an operational licence for a research nuclear reactor in November, JAEC Chairman Khaled Toukan said on Monday.
After obtaining the licence, the nuclear reactor at the Jordan University of Science and Technology will be officially inaugurated under Royal patronage in early December this year, Toukan said, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Toukan announced that tests for operation at a capacity of 5 megawatts were successful.
