Relatively hot weather forecast for weekend

AMMAN — The weather on Friday is forecast to be relatively hot in hilly areas and hot in the Jordan Valley, desert and Aqaba, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds that may raise dust in the eastern and southeastern regions of the Kingdom.
Temperatures in Amman on Friday will range between a high of 36ºC during the day, and a low of 21ºC at night, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) website.
In Aqaba, it will be very hot during the day with 44ºC, dropping to 28ºC at night.
On Saturday, a tangible drop in temperatures is expected, as the Kingdom will be affected by a fair air mass that will keep temperatures within their annual average.
It will be fair in mountainous areas and the desert, while relatively hot in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds that may raise dust in the eastern and southeastern parts of the country.
The capital will see a high of 29ºC during the day, dropping to 19ºC at night, while temperatures in Aqaba will range between a high of 38ºC during the day and a low of 25ºC at night, the JMD forecast.
Meanwhile, the Civil Defence Department (CDD) on Thursday issued instructions for people to follow during the hot weather conditions expected over the weekend.
The CDD warned against direct sun exposure to avoid sunstroke, according to a CDD statement, which called on people to wear light and loose-fitting clothes.
People are advised to wear hats and take regular breaks, especially those who work in the construction and agricultural sectors and those whose jobs require staying under direct sun exposure for long periods of time.
Parents should take good care of their children, preventing them from leaving their homes in hot weather conditions.
The CDD called on people to avoid shopping in the hottest hours of the day, and to keep their children home while shopping.
The department also warned against swimming in hazardous places, such as dams, agricultural ponds and water canals.
The CDD urged people to call 911 in case of any emergency.
