AMMAN — The Jordan National Red Crescent Society (JNRCS) on Sunday announced a programme to improve living conditions for underprivileged Jordanian and Syrian families in Amman and Ajloun.
The JNRCS said that the programme, which will be launched in cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and funded by the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis, aims to train and create job opportunities for underprivileged Jordanians and Syrian refugees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The programme will target both genders and last around four months, and includes various vocational trainings in embroidery, carpentry and tour operating, among others, according to Petra.
The statement added that applicants must be Jordanian or Syrian, living in Amman or Ajloun. Legal documents needed for registration include security cards for Syrian refugees and passports or IDs for Jordanians.
Applicants must also be unemployed and between 18-59 years of age.
The statement added that registration began on Sunday, and will run until February 2 at the JNRCS’ offices in the areas of Ashrafiyah, Sahab and Ajloun. Applicants can also apply at the International Labour Organisation’s offices in Abdali and Sahab in Amman.
