Razzaz mourns passing of Mahmoud Samra, former minister of culture

AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Saturday mourned the passing of former minister of culture Mahmoud Samra, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The prime minister recalled Samra’s “great services” for his homeland for all the positions he held.
Samra held the post of culture minister from 1991 to 1993 as well as several academic positions, including a professor and dean of the faculty of arts, vice president of the University of Jordan and vice president of the Jordan Academy of Arabic.
Samra held the Independence Medal of the First Order.
